Chicago Man Takes Joyride in Ambulance
Oct. 10--Chicago police arrested a man who apparently took a Cicero ambulance for a joyride around the city's Southwest Side, authorities said today.
Englewood District officers curbed the Cicero-owned ambulance in the 1500 block of West 63rd Street just before midnight, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.
The ambulance had been reported stolen from the grounds MacNeal Hospital in Bewyn earlier in the evening, more than 10 miles from where the ambulance was eventually stopped, authorities said.
The officers took the man of unknown age into custody without incident, Alfaro said.
A representative for Cicero wasn't available for comment this morning.
