Minn. Motorist Suspected of Heroin Use While Driving

June 02--A report of a driver "all over the road" turned into a possible heroin overdose at the wheel, officials said Monday.

Deputies were dispatched about 2:50 p.m. Friday to East Circle Drive and Century Valley Road Northeast, where they found the vehicle in the median.

The driver, a 21-year-old Rochester man, was taking shallow breaths when they arrived; CPR was started, said Capt. Scott Behrns with the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office. Ambulance personnel also responded and revived him by administering a shot of naloxone, a drug used to counter the effects of heroin, the report says.

"It sounds like he was in the process of shooting heroin while driving," Behrns said. No charges have been filed.
