Pa. EMS, Fire Companies Receive $120,000 in Grants

April 25--HARRISBURG -- Volunteer fire and EMS companies in the 176th Legislative District will receive nearly $120,000 in grants from the Office of State Fire Commissioner, Rep. Jack Rader, R-176, announced Monday.

"Our local volunteer fire and emergency response-companies do an excellent job and I am grateful for their dedication to the safety and well being of our residents. This program provides much-needed funds to these companies to ensure that they can continue to provide critical public safety services," Rader said in a press release.

The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature and administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner. All funding comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming.
