National Registry Seeks Input on Exam
PRESS RELEASE
“Let’s write the future together!” That’s the call from the National Registry of EMTs. Right now, the nation’s EMS certification body is seeking assistance on two important issues.
First, the National Registry is starting a multiyear project to develop scenarios and a scoring tool for the next generation of the paramedic integrated out-of-hospital station. It is seeking accredited paramedic programs to help validate these tools, starting in spring of 2019.
“We provide the nation’s EMS certification for prehospital care, and we need your help to keep our certification process current,” says Bill Seifarth, executive director. Interested programs can sign up by logging in to their Program Director account on the National Registry website at www.nremt.org. Click on the Psychomotor Scenario Validation link on the lower left side of the navigation menu.
Second, the National Registry is also seeking assistance in writing the national EMS cognitive examinations. The National Registry is especially seeking experienced providers, physician medical directors and EMS educators for its test development panels in 2019 and 2020. Interested and qualified individuals will be invited to take part in a three-day panel in Columbus, Ohio. The Registry will take care of travel, food and lodging up front in exchange for the submission of 25 examination questions and assistance in developing the more comprehensive cognitive certification examination to date.
