Seven Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving N.Y. Ambulance
Staten Island Advance, N.Y.
A multi-vehicle crash Sunday in Port Richmond involved a privately owned ambulance, according to a source with knowledge of the incident.
The crash was reported at about 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Jewett and Post avenues, and resulted in seven people with minor injuries, according to an FDNY spokeswoman.
The spokeswoman said one patient was transported by the FDNY to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, while sources say the others were either transported to the same hospital by other means, or refused medical attention.
A Priority 1 Ambulance vehicle was hooked to the back of a tow-truck following the crash, and appeared to have sustained damage to the front-end. It remains uncertain if any EMTs were injured in the crash. A spokeswoman for the company declined to comment.
It also remains uncertain if any charges will be filed in connection with the incident.
