Calif. Ambulance Collides with Vehicle

Apr. 14—A Marin County Fire Department ambulance carrying an injured cyclist to the hospital collided with a private vehicle in San Anselmo Saturday morning, requiring three ambulances to be sent for the ambulance.
Three people were treated at Marin General Hospital following the collision on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Broadmoor Avenue, which occurred at 9:47, police said. Traffic in the area was tied up for hours.
About half an hour earlier, the ambulance involved in the collision had picked up a bicyclist injured in an accident on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Fairfax. Three ambulances were sent to the scene of the second accident to pick up the bicyclist, the paramedic and the driver of the other vehicle.
The paramedic has been treated and released. The circumstances of the accident and the injuries to the bicyclist and the driver were not immediately known.
