48 EMS Leaders Graduate from Ambulance Service Manager Program

Platte City, MO: Fitch & Associates recently recognized the graduates of the 2023 Fall Ambulance Service Manager (ASM) program in Oklahoma City.

Forty-eight EMS professionals from across the nation recently completed the blended learning program, which included online learning and two separate weeks in a classroom setting. Students were engaged in a rigorous curriculum designed to develop and enhance the skills of today’s effective EMS leader. Attendees gained insight and practical knowledge from Frank Gresh, Jay Fitch, Ph.D., Anthony Minge, EdD, Thomas Moore, Todd Sheridan, MBA, Hannah Fitch, M.Div, Bruce Moeller, Ph.D., Mike Taigman, Joe Coons, Roxanne Peek, MBA, Bobby Hopewell, and other experienced EMS industry leaders.

Each ASM class recognizes one student with a leadership award. The honor is bestowed upon them by their peers. The award is presented to a classmate whom the students feel has exhibited exceptional personal and professional leadership qualities throughout the course and who the students feel represents the best in EMS. The Fall 2023 ASM leadership award was presented to Nathanial Majors, projects coordinator for Legacy EMS, Inc. in Louisiana.

Jeremy McMullen was recognized as runner-up. The Fall 2023 ASM leadership award is named in honor of Dr. David E. Nelson, DMin. Nelson was an onsite coordinator for ASM for more than two decades. He is widely known for his work in creating and nurturing strong teams, celebrating and assisting organizational evolution, and identifying and building excellent leaders. 

In addition to the leadership award, one group project is also chosen from each class to be represented at Pinnacle. The fall 2023 project winner was “CALLed2Help: A Peer to Peer Crisis Hotline” by Jennie Simon, Ryan Barry Ashley Fillmore, Mike Franklin, Rich Ranalli, Michael Teasdale, and Brannon Williams.
