CAPCE Receives Half a Million Submissions in March 2023
DALLAS, TX—The Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) announced March 31, 2023, that more than 500,000 EMS continuing education (CE) course completions were received in March 2023. This is the largest single month of course completions in CAPCE history and is greater than 50,000 records higher than the course completions received in March 2022.
“CAPCE is proud to achieve this important milestone,” said Jay Scott, CAPCE executive director. “CAPCE is committed to meeting the needs of the nation’s continuing education providers and EMS practitioners. This milestone clearly indicates that EMS practitioners are seeking out accredited CE programs. We are grateful for their trust.”
Formed in 1992, CAPCE verifies that EMS CE meets applicable industry standards. CAPCE-accredited CE is nearly universally accepted in the United States for EMS licensure and certification credit. CAPCE stores individual course records in a secure database that allows automated upload of course data for National Registry recertification.
“EMS clinicians trust CAPCE accreditation to ensure their continuing education records will be accepted for certification and licensure,” said Robert Wales, chair of the CAPCE Board. "The review process ensures that the necessary standards are followed for quality continuing education. The record keeping process with the secure CAPCE data ensures that course records are available and can be verified. We continue to explore ways to help coordinate continuing education across states and jurisdictions."
The Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) was formed in 1992 to accredit EMS continuing education across states and jurisdictions. CAPCE accredits continuing education for most major EMS conferences, standardized EMS courses and distributive education. More information can be found at www.capce.org.
