CPR Saves Lives Rally Set for December 9 in San Diego
The Citizen CPR Foundation’s Cardiac Arrest Survival Summit is gathering lifesaving professionals and sudden cardiac arrest survivors in one place to celebrate the CPR Saves Lives Rally, scheduled for Thursday December 9, 2021 in San Diego.
During the rally, to be held from 4:45 to 6:30 p.m. in Riverfront Park at the Town and Country Resort, attendees will celebrate the lives of frontline medical professionals and sudden cardiac arrest survivors. Scheduled to speak are Michael Simonsen, chief of staff for San Diego City Councilmember Raul Campillo, co-medical directors Joelle Donofrio, MD, and Chris Kahn, MD, Citizen CPR Foundation leaders, and survivors of sudden cardiac arrest.
Rally attendees will learn hands-only CPR training led by students from Our Lady of Peace Academy, while connecting with local advocacy groups such as the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Save A Life, Parent Heart Watch, Project Heartbeat and the San Diego Lifeguards.
For the first time in over 30 years, this year’s Cardiac Arrest Survival Summit features a survivor- focused plenary session: The Unspoken Realities of Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survival: A Roundtable Discussion. This session will be included in a learning track created specifically for sudden cardiac arrest survivors: Community Strategies & Survivorship: Engagement, Awareness & Support.
The CPR Saves Lives Rally is free and open to the public.
