Falck Rocky Mountain Earns CAAS Reaccreditation

PRESS RELEASE

AURORA, CO—Falck, one of the world’s largest providers of emergency services, announced Sept. 12, 2022, that its Rocky Mountain operation has been reaccredited by the independent Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS).

Considered the “gold standard” for ambulance services, CAAS accreditation signifies that a service has met or exceeded a comprehensive series of standards determined to be essential in a modern EMS provider. These standards, which often exceed those established by state or local regulation, are designed to increase operational efficiency and clinical quality, while decreasing risk and liability to the organization.

“The health and safety of Aurora residents and visitors is our top priority,” said David Patterson, managing director of Falck Rocky Mountain. “Being reaccredited by CAAS provides verification to EMS patients, the city council, fellow emergency response agencies, the medical profession, and all members of the Aurora community that Falck provides the highest quality EMS care.”

Falck Rocky Mountain first earned CAAS accreditation in 2019. Accreditation, which lasts three years, requires a comprehensive self-assessment and an independent external review of the EMS organization in more than 100 categories. All ambulance systems are eligible for accreditation including private, public, fire department and hospital-based.

“Accreditation not only demonstrates Falck’s commitment to first-rate patient care,” said Shaunna King, clinical services manager, “but it also highlights the dedication of our entire staff in meeting the highest national standards in the EMS profession.” Both Falck’s initial accreditation and its recent reaccreditation noted zero deficiencies—a significant accomplishment, King said.

Falck Rocky Mountain has served as the city of Aurora’s official provider of ALS 9-1-1 ambulance services since 2015. Today, its 140 paramedics and EMTs respond to more than 42,000 calls each year.

Falck, one of the world’s largest providers of emergency services, has been helping people in time of need since 1906. It employs more than 30,000 people worldwide. As a global leader, Falck brings its comprehensive experience to bear as a trusted partner strengthening local healthcare systems. For more information, visit Falck.us.
