Hall Ambulance Delivers Holiday Toys to Head Start Children

PRESS RELEASE

BAKERSFIELD, CA—Christmas arrived early for 90 Head Start students enrolled at the Harvey L. Hall Child Development Center.

A Hall paramedic ambulance arrived at the school the morning of December 16, 2021 full of toys for the children enrolled there, ranging from infant to four years old. Hall Ambulance’s Siren the Rescue Dog, accompanied by two EMS responders, unloaded the wrapped presents, which were personally selected for each student by members of Hall Ambulance’s management staff.

Providing Christmas presents to the students has become an annual tradition since 2017, after the Stine Road Head Start facility was renamed the Harvey L. Hall Child Development Center in honor of Hall Ambulance’s founder and Bakersfield’s 25th mayor.

“Before COVID-19, Hall Ambulance would invite Santa to ride along for the toy delivery, surprising the students in their classrooms with presents,” said Mark Corum, director of media services. “That evening, company employees would return to transform the school’s playground into Siren the Rescue Dog’s Winter Candyland, where the students and their families could take photos with Santa on his sleigh and enjoy holiday refreshments after the student’s holiday performance. I think we are all looking forward to being able to do that once again, but in the meantime, we are excited to be able to provide each of the Head Start students with a toy for Christmas."
