SAN ANTONIO, TX — Jim Marshall, MA, was honored at the 18th Pinnacle EMS Leadership Forum with the Pinnacle Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to public safety and emergency medical services over the course of their careers. Jim was presented with the award during a surprise announcement at Pinnacle 2023 in San Antonio, Texas.

Marshall is a co-founder of the 911 Training Institute, whose mission is to empower 9-1-1 and EMS professionals to achieve Resilience Driven Excellence in life and Peak Performance at work. Jim serves as the CEO and lead instructor for 911TI, strategically leading the organization in the development of curriculum and resources to benefit the 9-1-1 industry.

“Thank you to Fitch & Associates for their great kindness in blessing me with this award. I am grateful beyond words. The award has value only in proportion to the value we as stakeholders place on the lives of our first responders and as we embrace our shared responsibility to strategically invest in their wellbeing. There's so much more work left to do. Let's get it done!” Marshall said.

Marshall is a licensed mental health professional specializing in the development and delivery of innovative science-driven training, tools, and resources fostering optimal well-being of 9-1-1 professionals and their confident mastery of calls involving mental crises and suicide. He is also co-editor of The Resilient 9-1-1 Professional: A Comprehensive Guide to Surviving & Thriving Together in the 9-1-1 Center.

“Jim has made it his life’s work to help others who are really in need, some of which may not even know it. He has sought to help those in our profession to not only respond to and repair but also prepare for and prevent incidents that damage our mental and physical well-being. He is a person that inspires others to be better human beings,” said Anthony Minge, EdD, senior partner at Fitch & Associates and co-chair of the Pinnacle Program Committee.
