National Registry Launches Key Initiative Webpage & QR Code

During the early summer, the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians unveiled its Key Initiatives webpage and introduced the National Registry QR code. This endeavor aims to create a convenient hub for the EMS community, offering accurate, timely, and insightful information about the organization's present and future objectives and projects. From the ALS examination's progression to the EMS ID's ongoing expansion, you can find everything you need to know in one place.

“We wanted to create one place where the EMS industry could turn to find accurate information that gave them an overview of each initiative, key takeaways, and dates to know,” says Bill Seifarth, Executive Director and CEO of the National Registry. “The future of EMS begins with collaboration, communication, and transparency – all three we aim to provide on our Key Initiatives webpage.”  

The National Registry launched the webpage with eight key initiatives:  

• ALS Psychomotor Sunset 
• BLS Practice Analysis 
• Scaled Score Reports 
• EMS ID 
• AEMT Student Minimum Competencies  
• NCCP & Evidence-Based Guidelines 
• Evidence-Based & Table of Authorities 
• EMS Continued Competency Agenda For the Future: A Systems Approach 
   

Each initiative presents as a comprehensive infographic, featuring essential details such as the project's background, key takeaways, answers to frequently asked questions, and crucial dates to remember. These infographics are available in PDF format, designed to serve as easily accessible references that can be linked to, printed, or shared as needed. Notably, each PDF is dated, ensuring users can quickly identify if they have the latest version and stay informed about any updates that occur. 

"These easy-to-read summaries offer valuable information, keeping everyone well-informed and aligned in moving forward," says Seifarth. "Our intention is to provide these resources to foster collective efforts in evolving, transforming, and enhancing the EMS profession together." 

Alongside the Key Initiatives webpage, the National Registry has also introduced a QR Code designed for use at conferences, presentations, and social media platforms. This QR Code provides direct access to the organization's LinkTree, a constantly updated resource hub containing news updates, helpful links, and valuable certification/recertification resources. Whether you're attending events, participating in presentations, or engaging on social media, the QR Code serves as a convenient gateway to stay connected and informed about the latest developments and essential resources offered by the National Registry. 

“The feedback has been phenomenal from NASEMSO and Accreditcon to state or regional conferences,” says Seifarth. “People appreciate having important information in one place that serves as an official source, not hearsay or rumors.”  

In its first month online, the National Registry's key initiatives were viewed over 2,500 times with nearly 1,000 visitors per month since.
