Live From Expo 2022: Intravenous Acetaminophen for Pain

Host: Mike McCabe

Analgesia has always been a standard component of prehospital care. If you’re in pain, we can take care of it. But times are changing, and so are the mechanisms with which we treat the “5th vital sign.”

in our latest episode of “Live From the Expo Floor” recorded at EMS World Expo 2022 in Orlando, host Mike McCabe sits down with two industry all-stars—Casey Patrick, medical director for Harris County ESD 11 Mobile Healthcare in Texas, and Kevin Crocker, chief of quality and process improvement at Montgomery County Hospital District (MCHD) EMS—to discuss the varied EMS options for pain management at MCHD and specifically the expanding role of IV APAP.

It’s ok. Had it in the uk for some time now. Certainly not a strong analgesic. Good for nauseous, pyrexial Pts who won’t tolerate oral analgesia. Opiate sparing in the elderly
