New Brunswick Manufacturer Sends Specialized Ambulance to Israel
PRESS RELEASE
Malley Industries recently delivered a specialized ambulance for trauma care in Israel.
In cases of severe trauma and complex medical emergencies in the Tel Aviv area, blood tests, ultrasounds and other advanced medical procedures otherwise only available in hospitals can be performed by paramedics and physicians thanks to a Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) ambulance delivered to Israeli emergency services provider MDA (Magen David Adorn).
The uniquely advanced medical response ambulance was manufactured in Canada by Malley Industries, a New Brunswick-owned company now in its 40th year of operation. The multiple award-winning company has ambulances in service throughout North America and abroad.
Manufactured to the MDA specifications, the ambulance interior is extraordinarily spacious, allowing emergency personnel to provide advanced life support care both in the field and en route to the hospital.
"Last October during the EMS World Conference in Nashville, Malley Industries was approached by representatives of the MDA of Israel to begin a collaborative effort to develop a Mobile Intensive Care Unit,' said Len Weller, responsible for Malley's USA Business Development. "The project included multiple organizations from the USA, Canada and Israel.
"The MDA took advantage of the superior interior space, chassis handling characteristics of the front wheel drive vehicle and the increased payload of the Malley thermo-formed interior," added Weller. "The result was an ambulance able to accommodate the needs to perform intensive care to a wide variety of medical emergency procedures performed by advanced life support paramedics and physicians."
The ambulance was presented to MDA Israel in a ceremony to honor the late wife of the President of Israel, an active supporter of the MDA pre-hospital emergency services. To coincide with the timing of this special dedication, the ambulance was shipped by air to Tel Aviv in early September.
"Malley is proud to have been an integral part of this endeavor and share in this historic event," Mr. Weller concluded.
