9-1-1 Leaders Gather in D.C. to Address Emergency Comms Issues

PRESS RELEASE

NENA, the 9-1-1 Association, and hundreds of 9-1-1 leaders and professionals from across the nation will gather in Washington, D.C. on February 12-15, 2020 for the annual 9-1-1 Goes to Washington advocacy event. This year’s event will focus on the urgency of federal funding for Next Generation 9-1-1, while also providing attendees the opportunity to take immediate action by fostering dialogue with government officials. Sessions will focus on several issues including robocalling, reclassification, location accuracy and more. The closing reception will honor extraordinary women in 9-1-1, including Rep. Norma Torres, sponsor of the 9-1-1 Saves Act.

Invited speakers include U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, David Furth, Deputy Chief, Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, and Laurie Flaherty, Coordinator, National 911 Office. A list of additional speakers can be found below.
