Calif. Paramedic Strike Team Deployed to Wildfire

PRESS RELEASE­

WHO: American Ambulance of Visalia Type 1 Strike Team. The Strike team consists of 5 paramedic ambulances, 1 disaster support unit, and 1 paramedic strike team leader.

WHAT/WHY: State OES, the California State Office of Emergency Services, has requested our Type 1 strike team deploy to Solano County for staging. From Solano County, they will respond to incidents in Napa County according to their specific assignment. This request from State OES was sent due to a fast-moving wildfire creating the potential for immediate evacuations of hospitals and other facilities, as well as the need for reinforcement of the Napa County emergency medical services system. Our assignment is to be received upon arrival at the check- in point.

WHEN: The team deployed at 1:00pm on 8-19-2020.

WHERE: Our Type 1 Strike Team is staging in Solano County to respond to incidents in Napa County.
