LAKE CITY, FL—Century Ambulance Service will continue to provide the residents of Columbia County and the town of Fort White with EMS and 9-1-1 services through a contract extension approved by City Council Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021.

The approved contract was extended for another three years.

Century Ambulance has been providing services to the county since August 2017. The company operates out of four different locations within the county with plans on opening several more stations.

Century Ambulance Service employs 120 EMTs and paramedics.

Century Ambulance is currently working closely with the Florida Department of Health Emergency Management Services to implement vaccine protocols eligible for rollout to the county.

“We are excited about what the next three years of continued progress will bring to the County,” stated Matt Johnson, vice president and general manager of Century Ambulance Service. “This new contract increases the level of EMS coverage in the county to meet the needs of our growing community. Additionally, the stakeholders will have an opportunity to hear more from us and provide regular input on how we deliver EMS with Columbia County.”
