How Communications Technology Has Changed Post-9/11
“Where were you on 9/11?” That’s a question that anyone who was touched by this tragedy can answer with clarity, even 23 years after the event.
In a commemorative edition of the EMS World Podcast, host Mike McCabe asked three renowned first responders where they were during this crisis:
- William Bratton, who served as the police commissioner for the NYPD and the Boston Police Department, as well as chief of police for the Los Angeles Police Department. Bratton is now vice-chairman of the Homeland Security Council, and executive chairman at Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm.
- Sal Cassano, who served as the 32nd fire commissioner in the 151 year history of the FDNY. Presently, he is the senior managing director of Pitta Bishop & Del Giorno LLC.
- John Peruggia, former chief of EMS for FDNY. Today, Peruggia is an adjunct professor at the Metropolitan College of New York in their Emergency Management and Business Continuity program.
This special e-book summarizes the thoughts of these leaders and places them in the larger context of first responder communications since that fateful day.
