Pa. Agencies Struggling to Solve Paramedic Shortage

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – During a ride-along with Lancaster EMS on Friday, EMS Captain Joe Carr told ABC27 News how a paramedic shortage is hurting the ambulance company.

“From time to time we have to downsize,” Carr said. “We have to take units out of service.”

Low pay, long hours, and high stress are all reasons ambulance officials across the Midstate point to when they talk about staffing issues.
