With the advent of community paramedicine, EMS providers have advanced from providing one message to one place—i.e., a patient status report to the emergency department—to continued two-way communications with the entire care team.
Jenny Rieker, a paramedic for Christian Hospital St. Louis, described the learning curve for providers who might not be native users of information technology.
