Dear readers,

Information in the field of electrophysiology is constantly changing and being updated. I hope this month's articles will provide you with the information you need to help you better diagnose and treat the patients you see every day in the EP lab. At this year's Heart Rhythm Society meeting in San Francisco, I had the opportunity to speak with Michael Weiner from Biophan Technologies, Inc. I hope you will have a chance to read this interesting interview, published in this month's issue. In the interview, we discuss Biophan's innovative technology, as well as what steps need to be taken in the future in order for all biomedical devices to be safe and compatible with magnetic resonance imaging equipment. This month, we are also including an article on the recent COMPANION and DEFINITE study data. Author Linda Moulton, RN, MS, provides an overview of the two studies, and writes that they have helped to show how device therapy benefits heart failure patients. She notes that the studies have also helped continue to define the criteria for those who may qualify for this lifesaving option. Lastly, we are publishing the answers to our most recent Stump the Experts column. We will publish the names of those who had the correct answer in our next issue!

Thanks for reading!
