On December 3, 2008, Carilion Clinic lost a dear friend and colleague when Dr. Jeffrey George, along with his daughter Hannah, were tragically killed in an automobile accident. Dr. George was an accomplished cardiothoracic surgeon with Carilion Clinic; he was also a noted philanthropist. The Jeffrey E. George Comfort Hospitality House of Huntington, West Virginia, which provides respite and support to families of seriously ill adults, was named in his honor.
