Christopher R. Ellis, MD, is the lead author of a study recently published in Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology about an antibacterial envelope for the prevention of infections in cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs).1 This video shows a biventricular ICD upgrade with capsulectomy. Dr. Ellis demonstrates usage of the PEAK PlasmaBlade and the TYRX Absorbable Antibacterial Envelope. For both products, he describes his algorithm and rationale for usage.
