What are you most looking forward to at the Western Atrial Fibrillation Symposium?

I am thrilled to be participating in the Western AFib Symposium 2023. I am thankful to Dr Nassir Marrouche for the kind invitation. This really continues to be one of the premier annual meetings dedicated to all things AFib.

What can you tell us about your upcoming presentation at the Western Atrial Fibrillation Symposium?

I am excited about the topic that I will be discussing, which is how long to monitor patients for AFib after they undergo catheter ablation. This is a very important topic and one that we have been interested in for some time. In fact, it was our lab that coined the term very late recurrences of AFib, namely, patients who are free of AFib for a year after ablation and then have their first recurrence. During this talk, I hope to discuss this important topic and the implications for management of patients, especially with respect to need for things such as anticoagulants, antiarrhythmic drugs, and even repeat procedures.
