Between November 1 and January 7, more than 15.9 million individuals have enrolled in an ACA Marketplace health plan, a 13% increase over last year, said the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

“This represents activity through January 7, 2023 (Week 10) for the 33 Marketplaces using HealthCare.gov and through December 31, 2022 (Week 9) for the 18 State-based Marketplaces in 17 states and the District of Columbia that are using their own eligibility and enrollment platforms,” stated CMS in a press release.

The increase includes more than 3 million new Marketplace enrollees for 2023 and 12.8 million who were previously enrolled or automatically re-enrolled.

CMS Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure noted the enrollment period remains open until January 15 via the HealthCare.gov platform for coverage to begin February 1.
