Integrating the TULSA System Into a Dedicated Prostate Cancer Treatment Facility

Our guests today are from the Busch Center, a clinic in Alpharetta, Georgia that is dedicated to the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of prostate cancer. Dr Joseph J. Busch, Junior, is the clinic’s Oncological Radiologist, and has over 40 years of experience in diagnostic radiology. He runs the clinic with his multi-talented wife, Kathy, who has 40 years of radiology imaging experience. Earlier this year, the clinic added Profound Medical’s TULSA System to its treatment options. TULSA, also called “inside-out” ablation, uses a unique cooling system to provide thermal protection of important anatomy. The TULSA procedure may be a suitable first-line treatment of prostate cancer or BPH. The main objective of TULSA is to ablate diseased or excess prostate tissue while protecting surrounding healthy organs and structures. The TULSA procedure works by delivering precise doses of ultrasound waves to destroy diseased prostate tissue while protecting the healthy tissue surrounding the cancerous cells. Dr Busch and Kathy are here today to discuss how TULSA has impacted their clinical procedures and patient outcomes.
