We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of existing studies from the literature comparing robotically assisted percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with manual PCI. Robotically assisted PCI is a novel technology that allows the operator to perform PCI from a shielded cockpit using a remote-control module.

Stroke recurrence despite optimal oral anticoagulation might represent a novel indication for left atrial appendage occlusion. The aim of this study was to explore the role of left atrial appendage occlusion as an adjunctive therapy to patients with recurrent stroke despite optimal oral anticoagulation.

Transcatheter closure of mitral paravalvular leaks can be a lengthy and cumbersome procedure that may not guarantee satisfying results. We used steerable sheaths (FlexCath and Occlutech) in order to perform these procedures in a faster and more controllable manner.

Dual-antiplatelet therapy is recommended for all patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Ticagrelor was found superior to clopidogrel in a large, randomized clinical trial, but real-world data are lacking. We identified ACS patients from our institutional registry who underwent PCI and received either ticagrelor or clopidogrel and compared 1-year all-cause death rates.
