An Acknowledgement of Gratitude to Our Nurses

As today marks the final day for Nurses Week 2022, we here at Neurology Learning Network want to express our gratitude for the hard work and dedication of our nurses. This year, we have partnered with our sister network, the Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Learning Network, to bring you an impactful and empowering video series: Reclaiming Nurses Week.

In this powerful video series, we aim to acknowledge not just the dedication of our nurses, but the struggles they face day in and day out caring for their patients. The COVID-19 pandemic affected the health of our global population, while simultaneously impacting the mental stability of our health care workers, and we want you to know:

We Are Here For You

We want to empower our nurses, and all our health care workers, to advocate for their own mental health. Being the best caregiver to your patients begins with being the best caregiver to yourselves. So please, do not wait until you “break” or you watch your friends and colleagues break—reach out and seek help.

In this video series, we will take you on a mental health journey through the lens of our nurses to identify the Problem, the Cause, and the Solution; highlight Mental Health and Wellness Initiatives; and, finally, offer an Open Letter of Support.

We implore you to share these videos with the nurses in your lives. The nurses in your practices, at your hospitals, in your family, and among your friends. Please, let these nurses know you support them; they provide the backbone of our health care system, and We Support Them.

Neurology Learning Network is grateful to all the nurses and practitioners that partnered with us to bring you the Reclaiming Nurses Week video series. Identifying the problem and offering positive solutions is the perfect catalyst for change.

Nurses do not need a bouquet of roses this week, they need to know we are working together to remove the thorns.
