A day of beauty and inspiration for program residents
A father’s trip to a makeup store with his daughter has spurred an idea that will assist the residents of a Daytop rehabilitation facility in New York.
The business, FACE Stockholm, today is hosting an individualized makeup application for up to a dozen residents of Daytop’s Manor House program in Rhinebeck. FACE Stockholm’s store is located in the same community.
The event is seen as helping to build self-esteem among the women in the addiction treatment program, as well as to give them some practical tips about looking their best as they begin to transition out of treatment and into job searches.
The experience should prove to be a win-win for residents and for their facility, as FACE Stockholm has agreed to conduct the event at no charge.
“The Manor House program director takes his daughter to that makeup store and he thought it would be a great idea to see if he could get residents in there,” says Daytop spokesman Olivier Gibbons. “So he proposed it to FACE Stockholm and they said they’d love to do it.”
Today’s event also includes a presentation from a local woman who is a motivational speaker and also serves as a board member for the local chamber of commerce.
