Molly: From an insider`s perspective

I recently came across this essay (https://www.kissmyangeles.com/view/story/finding_molly) in my Facebook feed and wanted to share it with you all. It’s an inside look at the world of Molly—who’s taking it, where they’re taking it, why they’re taking it, and some saddening stories of young people lost to this designer drug.

Warning! When/if you decide to read this essay, there is quite a bit of profanity. The author of this essay, Shane Morris, was inside the EDM world for years (that’s Electronic Dance Music). He was a promoter and a manager of bands in the EDM world and shares his stories of also being a Molly dealer while in the music business.

He talks about how easy it is to get Molly into these concerts and why law enforcement can’t really do anything to stop the dealers from bringing it in and selling it to all of the 18-25 year olds in attendance. He also talks about the intensity and demand for this drug and explains that some dealers can make $100,000 in ONE WEEKEND.

It sounds like a very scary world, and as more information about Molly continues to come out of the woodwork, I think it’s interesting also to take a look at this side of the story—the side of the person selling and taking these drugs.

Maybe if we can understand that side, we can begin to try to get this serious problem under control.
