Jolynn Tumolo

Integrity Bio-Chemicals is recalling a 55-gallon drum of lemon-scented hand sanitizer sent to a single distributor in Oklahoma that may have further distributed the product. According to the November 29, 2023, US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Enforcement Report, third-party testing revealed acetal and acetaldehyde in the product at levels above specified amounts.

The recall affects Integrity Biochem HSC 70-LM, alcohol antiseptic 70%, hand sanitizer, lemon-scented topical gel, in a 55-gallon drum (NDC 77512-044-03), from lot 2133607 (manufacturing date 11/23/21). The label does not contain an expiration date.

Integrity Bio-Chemicals voluntarily initiated the recall October 18, 2023. On November 20, 2023, the FDA designated the recall Class II, signaling use of the product could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences. A remote possibility of serious harm also exists.

HSC 70-LM is an over-the-counter topical antiseptic.
