Facilitating Easier Visualization Of Wound Exudate

A new blue foam dressing may be a useful alternative to the traditional black and white foam dressing in a negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) device.

SNaP Blue Foam makes it easier to visualize wound exudate, according to the manufacturer Spiracur. The company adds that the color minimizes the risk of leaving pieces of foam in the wound upon removal.

Spiracur notes that the SNaP Blue Foam Dressing Kits are intended for use with the SNaP Wound Care System, a portable and disposable NPWT device. According to the manufacturer, the combination offers the healing benefits of the NPWT device while augmenting the original SNaP Wound Care Dressing.

As the company notes, the new foam dressing kit also enables the distribution of even levels of negative pressure, the promotion of granulation tissue formation and the enhancement of macro-deformation of wound edges.

A More Affordable Compact X-Ray System

Podiatric practices looking for a compact, table-top digital X-ray system may have a new solution.

The FCR Prima T is specifically for the X-ray needs of low-volume private podiatry practices, notes the manufacturer Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A.

The Prima T comes complete with a computed radiography (CR) reader, an electronic viewing workstation and an archiving system. The company says this enables facilities to transition quickly and easily to soft copy imaging environments.

The manufacturer notes the system’s compact size, affordability, easy installation and advanced features are some of Prima T’s key benefits. As Fujifilm explains, when a podiatrist switches to Prima T, the cost of consumables is nearly eliminated as soft copy viewing and storage replaces the need to buy and dispose of chemicals and film.
