Sharing the Good News in Dermatology
Over the past two years as managing editor of this publication, I have been lucky to connect with a great number of organizations, thought leaders, and providers in dermatology. Even in that short time, the specialty has changed drastically. We have emerging therapies that target more selective pathways, updates to long-standing guidelines, an exciting number of medications in the pipeline, and changes in care models that put the patient first. I would be remiss to not mention the incredible work we witnessed during the pandemic last year, as dermatologists volunteered on the frontlines and documented the cutaneous manifestations of COVID-19. Thus, when I hear from all of you that “it’s an exciting time to be a dermatologist,” I truly believe it.
The Dermatologist is going through exciting updates as well to keep up with the times in field. We look forward to continuing to provide comprehensive in-person or virtual conference coverage, sharing insights from prominent researchers and practitioners, and publishing practical information to use the same day. To access up-to-date information on research, evidence-based practices, and CME activities, be sure to visit our newest website, the Dermatology Learning Network, at dermatologylearningnetwork.com. The Dermatology Learning Network is a part of the HMP Global Learning Network, a multi- disciplinary platform featuring clinical content, multimedia interviews, and live and on- demand medical education for a wide range of therapeutic areas.
We’re also elated to share that The Dermatologist received an APEX Award of Excellence for our August 2020 issue. Your insights as dermatologists, along with our shared goal of promoting evidence-based care and education for improved patient outcomes, is what drives our mission to make dermatology and health care accessible and digestible through our content. If you have any inkling to share your thoughts with your peers, I encourage you to reach out with your idea to Dr Steve Feldman, Chief Medical Editor, and our editorial staff at dermeditor@hmpglobal.com. Your article, podcast, or video could help spark conversation and make a difference in the field.
As we head into the latter half of 2021, I look forward to connecting digitally and in-person at a future conference with all of you. Thank you for your continued readership.
