New Wound Clinic Opens in Michigan

ProMedica Monroe (MI) Regional Hospital has opened a new outpatient wound care clinic. According to a report by The Monroe News, the clinic features board-certified specialists in vascular surgery and wound care. Dr. Jihad Abbas, MD; physician assistant Steven Bush; and Kimberly Eby, CNP, are among the staff members. Patients in the clinic are assessed using the acronym DOMINATE, in which. Wounds are evaluated for debridement, offloading, moisture and medication, infection or inflammation, nutrition, arterial, technical advancement, and edema. Maine-Based Wound Center Earns Accreditation

Pen Bay Surgery and Wound Healing Center in Rockport, ME, has been granted accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) as a Vein Center in the area of superficial venous treatment and management. Pen Bay Surgery and Wound Healing Center is the first Vein Center in Maine to receive this accreditation, according to www.villagesoup.com. Accreditation by IAC indicates that the Pen Bay Surgery and Wound Healing Center has undergone an intensive application and review process, and is found to be in compliance with the published standards, thus demonstrating a commitment to quality patient care in vein treatment and management. Wound Care Center Names New Medical Director

Methodist Health System’s Wound Care Center in Mansfield, TX, has named Ike Nwabude, MD, as its new medical director, according to D CEO Healthcare. Nwabude most recently served as an executive leader at Medical City North Hills in North Richland Hills, TX, providing wound care services and supervising hyperbaric oxygen treatments at the hospital. He has also worked at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, International ATMO Inc. in San Antonio, University General Hospital in Houston, and Kindred Hospital Southwest in Fort Worth.

“My treatment philosophy is to treat wounds immediately to minimize complications and optimize healing,” Nwabude said in a statement.

Nwabude earned his bachelors degree and MBA at the University of Nigeria. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal medicine for internal medicine, wound care, and hyperbaric medicine.

Wound Care Advantage, Clark Regional Medical Center Open Kentucky Wound Clinic

Wound Care Advantage, a leading provider and manager of outpatient wound care and hyperbaric treatment centers based in Sierra Madre, CA, has partnered with Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester, KY, to open the Center for Wound Care, a new outpatient facility servicing Clark County, Kentucky, and surrounding areas. The Wound Healing Center at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN, partnered with Wound Care Advantage in January to provide management services to its existing program.
