Valerie L. Schade, DPM, AACFAS, and Thomas S. Roukis, DPM, PhD, FACFAS, review the technique for creating polymethylmethacrylate antibiotic-loaded bone cement beads and/or spacers for use in podiatric surgery.
Dr. Schade is a Fellow with the Limb Preservation Service at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. She is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Roukis is a member of the Attending Staff with the Department of Orthopaedics, Podiatry and Sports Medicine at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He is a Fellow and a member of the Board of Directors for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
