1.) What specific types of product lines that you make?

NormaTec’s sole focus is in the state-of-the-art design, manufacture and distribution of the most effective pneumatic compression technology available. Our product lines include: (1) medical technologies—the NormaTec PCD (pneumatic compression device) for use by patients suffering from the wide array of peripheral vascular disorders; and (2) athlete technologies—the NormaTec MVP (“Most Valuable Pump”) enabling both Pro and amateur athletes to take their recovery and performance to the next level.

2.) How many types of Compression pumps does your company make?
The NormaTec PCD incorporates the patented Peristaltic Pulse compression inflation/deflation strategy which delivers the most advanced and effective compression available today. Based on bio-mimicry, the PCD uniquely incorporates the physiologic concepts of the muscle pump, one-way venous and lymphatic valves, and peristalsis.

The NormaTec MVP is geared toward helping pro and amateur athletes recover faster and train harder. The Boston Celtics, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Flyers and US Navy SEALs are just some of the organizations that use the NormaTec daily.

3.) Provide a brief description of your company.
NormaTec designs, manufactures, and markets the NormaTec PCD, the core component of Pneumatic Medicine treatments. Pneumatic Medicine is the use of noninvasive, dynamic, pneumatic compression to treat a variety of medical conditions associated with compromised peripheral circulation. Some examples include chronic wounds or ulcers, venous insufficiency, and lymphedema.

The NormaTec PCD is an FDA-cleared state of the art pneumatic compression device developed by Laura F. Jacobs, MD, PhD (BioEngineering). Multi-cell inflatable boots are placed around the legs and rhythmically inflated and deflated to carefully prescribed pressures. Stagnant fluid in the affected limb is promptly mobilized via the patented Peristaltic Pulse pneumatic waveform. The NormaTec PCD provides software-controlled, precisely calibrated, dynamic pneumatic compression that mimics normal physiology.

4.) What advice do you have for clinicians who are interested in your products for their clinics?
Effective wound healing and the treatment of venous insufficiency and lymphedema doesn’t have to be frustrating anymore. Clinicians interested in implementing the NormaTec PCD and Pneumatic Medicine protocols should call NormaTec at (800) 335-0960. NormaTec’s highly trained clinical staff provides a direct and knowledgeable approach to wound care education and can easily set your office up to begin prescribing the NormaTec PCD.

1.) What specific types of product lines that you make?

ThermoTek offers a number of compression and thermal therapy devices. The VascuComp product family (VascuComp 1-AI, 1-L, 3-DVT, 3-L) is FDA listed to provide therapies for Arterial Insufficiency, Lymphedema and DVT prophylaxis via programmed intermittent pneumatic sequential compression. Indications for use include arterial and venous insufficiency, venous stasis ulcers, intermittent claudication and lymphedema. The VascuTherm product family (VascuTherm 2 & 3) combines compression therapy with cold or heat therapy. A large variety of therapy garments are available.

KeyProduct: The VascuComp 1-AI model is designed to enhance blood flow by providing targeted sequential compression of the foot followed by the calf using a rapid inflation/deflation pressure pulse. The compression cycle initiates with a quick compression of the popliteal space of the foot to 120mmHg, followed by a one second interval, then a sequential compression of the calf to 120mmHg within two seconds. Following the compression phase, the wraps are deflated rapidly and held at rest for a period of sixteen seconds. The cycle is repeated three times per minute. The VascuComp unit also has a Patient Record feature where the actual therapy delivered can be downloaded to a computer via a USB port creating a permanent record of the therapy for review by a physician or for insurance purposes.

2.) How many types of Compression pumps does your company make?
  Eight

3.) Provide a brief description of your company.
ThermoTek, Inc. has been a leader in the medical device industry for more than eighteen years. With our innovative designs for precision thermal management solutions, programmable compression therapy and numerous patents on our technology, we continue to push the envelope with new and creative product offerings. The VascuComp product family is the first of several new products planned for wound care.

4.) What advice do you have for clinicians who are interested in your products for their clinics?
When comparing compression products a clinician should choose the product appropriate for the therapy desired. One advantage of the VascuComp device is that it offers multiple therapies for Arterial Insufficiency, Lymphedema and DVT Prophylaxis. The clinician simply chooses the desired therapy setting and the patient only needs to press one button to start and stop therapy. The VascuComp is the only device available that offers all three of these therapy modalities in one compact unit.
