Welcome to AMP 2019

Dear AMP Attendees,

On behalf of the Course Directors, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 9th annual Amputation Prevention Symposium (AMP). AMP was born from an unmet need for treatment options for patients with CLI. Despite promising advances in revascularization and team-based approaches to CLI and wound care, CLI remains a growing public health problem. The rapid growth of this event is reflective of the increasing need for CLI awareness, education, and guidelines.

The symposium serves as an excellent scientific program that connects clinicians with the foremost experts in CLI to gain knowledge on the latest advances in revascularization and learn from one another. We are honored to host the AMP faculty, global leaders in our field, and attendees representing international, multispecialty CLI facilities.

AMP is designed to reflect the importance of bringing together the entire limb preservation team, including vascular surgeons, interventional cardiologists, interventional radiologists, general surgeons, cardiologists, primary care physicians, podiatrists, wound care specialists, nurses, vascular technicians, and cardiac cath technologists. This year, AMP is proud to host Richard F. Neville, MD, who will be delivering our annual Alan T. Hirsch Keynote Address during the opening session on Wednesday, August 14. Please join us for this talk titled “A Historical Perspective on CLI Definition and Treatment: #LeaveYourSpecialtyAtTheDoor.”

Live CLI cases will be broadcast daily by expert operators from high-volume CLI centers. Hands-on workshops will provide access to clinical experts describing the mechanism of action, tips and tricks, and proper application of evolving technology in the treatment of CLI.

Back by popular demand, AMP will again host a CLI Wound Summit. Key multidisciplinary experts will provide scientific presentations, case reviews, and comprehensive panel discussions.

We encourage each attendee to visit the Exhibit Hall and learn more about the vital role that emerging therapies play in preventing amputations. Please join us for our Exhibit Hall Grand Opening and Welcome Reception, co-sponsored by the CLI Global Society, on Wednesday, August 14, from 5:30 PM–7:00 PM.

Get ready for 4 days of education and inspiration as we leave our specialties at the door and unite with CLI Fighters from all over the globe working together toward a single goal: a better life for CLI patients. We are delighted to have you join us for this meeting and this critically important movement.

Cordially,

Jihad A. Mustapha, MD, FACC, FSCAI
