Evans named CEO of Sound Mental Health

Seattle-based Sound Mental Health (SMH) announced today that Patrick C. Evans has been selected as its new CEO, beginning June 13.

“My initial goal is to get out and meet with clients, family members, staff and community partners to get a sense of what they need and expect from SMH,” Evans tells Behavioral Healthcare. “These conversations will begin to lay the groundwork for me to lead the organization forward and to be a part of telling a very focused and aspirational story about the positive impact SMH is making in our community.”

With experience in business and implementing technology infrastructure, he will leverage data to demonstrate results in financial, clinical, client- and staff-satisfaction categories. Additionally, SMH is working to strengthen strategic partnerships and promote collaboration with major health systems.

“From a service perspective, one of the highest priority goals is to continue our work of fully integrating behavioral healthcare with primary care,” Evans says.

When previously serving as CEO at The Woodlands, a private, non-profit organization in Ohio, Evans grew revenue by 111%, increased staff by nearly 50% and oversaw a successful capital campaign to build a domestic violence shelter. Additionally, he served for the past 14 years as president and CEO of Behavioral Healthcare Partners of Central Ohio, Inc. In his new role, Evans says he will be responsible for developing and maintaining a business model for SMH that sustains its mission as well as its financial health.

Evans replaces David Stone, who announced his retirement after 26 years of service as CEO.
