Nevada Unveils Platform to Track Availability of Behavioral Health Services

Nevada Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Public and Behavioral Health has launched a tech platform that the state says is designed to enable referrals and monitor availability of behavioral healthcare services across the state.

The platform, called the Nevada Health Connection, has 50 participating behavioral health programs. Through OpenBeds—a cloud-based service that provides real-time data on bed availability, digital referrals, two-way provider communication, data aggregation and analytics—providers will be able to access information on facilities with availability and connect patients with an appropriate level of care more quickly. The system has a public-facing portal for community navigation located at treatmentconnection.com

The state DHHS says the platform was purchased with CDC Overdose Data to Action funds.

“This is a much-needed resource for our state and I am optimistic it will benefit those we serve,” said Stephanie Woodard, PsyD, DHHS senior advisor on behavioral health, said in a news release. “The ease of the Nevada Health Connection system will help us to more efficiently serve individuals who are in desperate need of services. We understand the challenges Nevadans have faced trying to navigate the system and connect with the care that they need. The Nevada Health Connection will connect referrals for treatment and social services into one comprehensive network.”
