Recovery Ways Hires Veteran as New Chief Medical Officer

Recovery Ways, a Utah-based mental health and addiction treatment provider, recently announced the addition of Hans Watson, MD, as the organization’s chief medical officer.

Recently retired from the U.S. armed forces, Watson served as a psychiatrist and as medical director of the alcohol and drug prevention and treatment program, as well as the family advocacy program, at Malmstrom Air Force Base. Watson enlisted in the U.S. Army as an artillery fire direction control specialist, later becoming an intelligence officer who was deployed to Afghanistan. Upon his return to the U.S., he attended medical school and entered the field of psychiatry.

Watson specializes in psychotherapy, post-traumatic stress disorder, neurobiology, traumatic brain injury, neural functioning and aviation psychiatry. His arrival at Recovery Ways comes as the organization looks to expand into additional markets. Currently, Recovery Ways operates three locations in Murray, Utah.
