Clinicians see potential of mobile apps

According to a survey of 401 mental health professionals conducted this summer by Sigma Research Group, fewer than half reported using mental health practice management software.

However, nearly three-quarters said they thought a mobile app would be useful. Most were interested in a data collection and aggregation app to track clients’ progress. Many also could envision usefulness of such an app for treatment planning.

Results of the study found little consensus among users on implemented programs, leading to the conclusion that the market for such specialized software is highly fragmented.
