EZ-CAP software selected by Luzerne-Wyoming Counties in Pennsylvania

MZI HealthCare, LLC (MZIHC) has announced that the Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program (Luzerne) in Pennsylvania has selected its EZ-CAP software, to automate claims and other healthcare transactions.

With EZ-CAP the organization will be able to provide required Federal reports to the state, enabling the state to meet Federal mandates. Using the integrated EZ-CAP system, which also provides financial and medical management, Luzerne will now be able to transform paper claims into an electronic format, making it possible for data to be processed through Luzerne's system more efficiently.

"After looking at several systems, we selected EZ-CAP for its industry-leading features and functions," said Sean Kane, fiscal director, Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program. "During the implementation and training process, MZI HealthCare was highly responsive to our needs. Our four person implementation team, Jim Davis (MH Program Specialist), Elaine Pataki (IT Consultant), Eric Sepela (IT Director) and me, were treated like we were their most important client.

"Now that EZ-CAP is installed, we have been able to streamline our entire process and operations, and we anticipate that we will be completely live and paperless by July."

An electronic billing system and a central database for authorizations also allows previously labor intensive tasks performed by Luzerne personnel to be automated, freeing internal resources from day-to-day repetitive tasks, increasing productivity and efficiency.

"Since installation, we have also leveraged new capabilities," continued Kane. "As a result, we're the first department in the County to be able to submit a payment file to the County controller system, which then cuts a check and sends it back to us to log into our system and distribute."
