Constellations Behavioral Services Announces Sale
Constellations Behavioral Services, a provider of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy services in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, announced this week that the company is being sold to its 150 employees.
Constellations was founded in 2009 by Kim and Tim Heald. The company works with schools and parents to develop ABA programs to help children with autism and other developmental delays.
“As we grew, we needed to ensure our own passion and direction for the company would sustain beyond just our influence and guidance,” Kim Heald, who also serves as director of leadership and talent development, said in a news release. “We have spent years developing our culture and leadership, which includes everyone. They believe in us, and we have believed in them to get here. Now we get to show them how much we believe in them by sharing the company with them.”
Spero Health Opens 3 Outpatient Programs in Virginia
Spero Health, a Brentwood, Tennessee-based national provider of outpatient addiction recovery services, announced the opening of 3 new clinics in Richmond, Winchester, and Newport News, Virginia. The 3 facilities join Spero Health’s network of more than 75 locations across Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Indiana, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Spero is in network with Virginia Medicaid and most commercial insurers. The company’s expansion in Virginia as the state’s Medical Examiners Office reported a 58.6% increase in fentanyl and/or heroin overdose deaths from 2019 to 2020 and projections for 2021 to be higher.
CM Counsel Acquires Karner Psychological Associates
Behavioral health services platform CM Counsel announced that it has acquired Karner Psychological Associates, an outpatient mental health services provider that serves the greater Albany, New York, area with 2 locations and telehealth-based services.
Karner, which provides mental health services for individuals, couples, families, and children, will continue to operate under its current name. Its leadership team of Frank Doberman, PhD, and W. Terrance Mooney, PhD, will continue to see patients.
The acquisition of Karner grows the geographic footprint of CM Counsel, which also operates 4 locations in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area as well as Savia Community Counseling Services in New Jersey and James Levine & Associates in Massachusetts.
Spring Health Adds Weldon to Product Suite
Spring Health, a global mental health solution for employers and health plans, announced that it has purchased Weldon, a family wellness platform that offers guidance and support for parents. Weldon’s co-founders, siblings Mark Burrell and Lynn Burrell, will join the Spring Hill product team in the deal.
The acquisition of Weldon expands Spring Health’s network of parenting support professionals and content focused on mental health and family well-being. Spring Hill has also expanded its offerings to include coaching and treatment of substance use disorder.
Helping Hands Family Adding 2 Autism Treatment Programs
Helping Hands Family (HHF) announced it is expanding its autism service offerings with the opening of new clinics in Lancaster and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The new locations will bring the company’s portfolio to 10 clinics across the state overall.
In addition to providing ABA therapy at its facilities, HHF offers in-home and school-based options.
