Hazelden Betty Ford Receives $10 Million to Initiate Center for Families
The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation announced that it has received a $10 million commitment from the Diana Davis Spencer Foundation to establish a National Center for Families and Children.
The center will support programs and services for family members impacted by a loved one’s substance use disorder, from children as young as 7 to spouses, parents, siblings, and others. The gift provided by the Spencer Foundation will provide initial funding to establish the National Center for Families and Children. Hazelden Betty Ford said in a news release that it plans to launch a coordinated effort to expand its family and children’s services, conduct research, and advance its standard of care for helping family members.
Hazelden Betty Ford ultimately aims to raise $100 million for the center.
Sheppard Pratt Division Partners With St. Mary’s Health System
Sheppard Pratt has announced that its consulting and management services division, known as Sheppard Pratt Solutions, has entered into a management agreement with St. Mary’s Health System, a member of Covenant Health in Lewiston, Maine. The partnership is being formed to expand patient access to St. Mary’s Health System’s behavioral health program.
As part of the partnership agreement, Sheppard Pratt has appointed Michael Abbatiello, MPPM, FACHE, to serve as vice president of behavioral health for St. Mary’s and executive director of behavioral health for Covenant Health. Abbatiello will be responsible for operational and financial oversight within the alliance. Additionally, St. Mary’s employees will have access to Sheppard Pratt resources, including continuing professional education and subject experts for case consultations and specialty services.
MORE Health Announces Partnership With Meadows Behavioral Healthcare
MORE Health, a digital health company that specializes in second medical opinions, recently announced a partnership with Meadows Behavioral Healthcare in an effort to increase access to trauma, mental health, addiction, and recovery practitioners.
Meadows provides services for individuals with trauma, drug and alcohol addiction, anxiety, depression, sex addiction, eating disorders, sexual trauma, intimacy issues, and co-occurring mental health conditions. The organization offers treatment at various levels, including inpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and virtual intensive outpatient, as well as case management services.
Through the partnership, MORE Health clients, benefit members, and patients will have access to medical opinions and virtual outpatient programs.
