Discovery Behavioral Health, Sheppard Pratt Announce Acquisitions
Two leading national behavioral healthcare providers announced portfolio-expanding acquisitions this week.
Discovery Behavioral Health, operator of more than 145 mental health, substance use, and eating disorder treatment across the United States, announced on Monday that it has acquired Anew Era TMS & Psychiatry, which has 6 transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) centers in California and another 6 in Texas. The deal to acquire Anew is the latest step in an initiative to expand Discovery MD, Discovery’s professional psychiatric services division. In addition to TMS, Discovery MD offers ketamine, medication-assisted treatment for addiction, medication management, assessment, and referral services.
In a news release announcing the acquisition, Discovery President and CEO John Peloquin said the addition of Anew “builds on our strategic mission to create a fully integrative care model with multiple treatment models—both conventional and innovative—available through 1 access point.”
Meanwhile, Sheppard Pratt, a private, not-for-profit provider of mental health, substance use, developmental disability, special education, and social services, announced Wednesday that it has acquired Omni House, a mental health services provider based in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
Sheppard Pratt will maintain Omni House’s current programs, services, and locations. Omni House offers mental health, psychiatric rehabilitation, and residential services for adults with mental illness diagnoses. The organization serves nearly 1,000 patients per year.
