Numinus Launches Therapy for Chronic and Serious Medical Illness

Numinus Wellness, a mental healthcare organization focused on advancing treatments and psychedelic-assisted therapies, announced the launch of its Ketamine for Chronic and Serious Mental Illness program. The program will launch at the company’s clinics in Utah, British Columbia, and Quebec, with plans to expand to other clinics at a later date.

The new program will offer ketamine-assisted therapy along with community support. Healthcare professionals trained in chronic and serious medical illness will provide care while working with patients’ existing healthcare teams.

Numinus also provided an update on its integration of Novamind, which it acquired earlier this year. Numinus said in a news release that integration “has continued as planned” and that, most recently, the company consolidated clinics in Murray and Salt Lake City, Utah.

Better U Expanding Telemedicine Platform

Better U, a psychedelic-assisted therapy platform, announced the expansion of its telemedicine platform to include immersive psychedelic healing centers. The provider currently has a flagship location in Las Vegas, Nevada, and services 9 states. The company is launching centers in 11 cities and plans to expand its operations to cover 30 states in 2023.

“At-home ketamine treatments are not suitable for everyone," psychiatrist and Better U co-founder Sam Zand, DO, said in a news release. “Transitioning to a hybrid model allows us to provide additional care for a greater portion of the population that are struggling with treatment-resistant depression.

“Some people require additional medical supervision, some prefer initial in-person guidance, and some patients state their home is not a conducive space for healing. Further, adding immersive experiences to psychedelic therapy can optimize the body and mind's response to treatment, allowing for a comprehensive body-mind-spirit transformation.”

Supermind Platforms Closes Pre-Seed Financing

Supermind Platforms, a technology company building access points to mental and psychedelic wellness, recently announced that it has raised an undisclosed amount in its pre-seed financing round from angel and institutional investors. The funds will be used to develop access points to psychedelic-assisted therapy and mental wellness on its domains, including psychedelics.com and microdosing.com.

The initial pre-seed round was closed in July, and it allowed the company to continue building its fully remote team across the US, Europe, and Asia. Subsequent funding is expected to support large-scale content, data and editorial initiatives with researchers, clinicians, and medical professionals.
