Work Together, Train Together
This year, while celebrating its 25th anniversary, Firehouse Expo broke new ground with the launch of EMS at Firehouse Expo. The event brought together firefighter/paramedics, EMTs and other emergency services professionals to train and network together. More than 17,000 professionals attended the conference, learning from experts in their field and exploring an exhibit hall with 460+ companies. The more regionalized event was developed for those who may be unable to attend the national EMS EXPO show.
In partnership with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), the EMS at Firehouse Expo classes were accredited by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS), and are accepted by the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) for recertification requirements. Firefighter/paramedics could earn up to 12 CEU credits in just three days. EMS at Firehouse Expo conference attendees could also gain access to more than 90 Firehouse Expo conference programs for free, and the same held true for Firehouse Expo attendees, who could attend the 40 EMS at Firehouse Expo classes for free!
"It only made sense to combine two events that bring together both fire and emergency services professionals to learn and train together," says Joe Covelli, EMS show manager. "A combined show offering training in one location meets many departments' training needs and is beneficial in today's economic climate, where budgets are severely being slashed."
