LSI Tactical Triage Pack from Disaster Management Systems, Inc.
Our ability as a nation to respond to mass casualty and active shooter type incidents is constantly improving. Strategies and tactics are updated and improved upon based on lessons learned from each incident. Fire departments and law enforcement agencies nationwide are starting to work together as a cohesive unit to ensure the maximum number of lives are saved.
One key component of this life-saving objective is to equip both law and fire first responders with the critical medical supplies needed to treat severely injured patients where they lay as opposed to tending to the injuries in distant treatment areas or casualty collection points. The challenge has always been how to effectively carry these critical life-saving-intervention (LSI) supplies so they are easy to carry and readily available.
A recently developed tactical triage pack from Disaster Management System, Inc. addresses this challenge by incorporating a chest-mounted medical kit specifically designed for rapid access to LSI supplies. The unique design includes an integrated triage tape dispenser to allow for quick triage (sorting) and counting of patients once LSI is complete. The pack also carries a poleless litter in case rapid patient extraction is required. The pack is designed to hold a number of LSI supplies such as tourniquets, chest seals, decompression needles and various wound dressings. Equipment load-outs can be customized by the customer.
The pack has even been field-tested by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which determined it's optimal for patient care. That's about as good an endorsement as you can get.
