"Not My Addiction" Edu-Documentary Wins Gold Telly Award

MAY 30—Triple Zilch Productions announced that their edu-documentary, Not My Addiction, won the Gold Telly award at the 40th annual Telly Awards out of a field of over 100 entries in the Health and Wellness category.
Not My Addiction was produced and filmed by Ray Kemp using four recovering opiate addicts from the St. Louis area to better educate first responders with understanding and treating opiate addicted patients. “Most EMT and paramedic training programs do not include anything in regard to understanding the opiate overdose patient and in many cases this lack of understanding leads to stigma towards these patients from our first responders,” said Kemp.
According to Kemp, Not My Addiction gives the viewers a much closer look at opiate addiction in a much deeper and personal manner that viewers can develop empathy towards the subjects in the nearly 40-minute-long video. “I think this message has worked so well in the video, it is one of the reasons it is used in hundreds of EMT and paramedic training programs throughout the country,” concluded Kemp.
Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards honors video and television made for all screens and is judged by The Telly Award Judging Council; a group of leading video and television experts from some of the most prestigious companies in entertainment, publishing, advertising, and emerging technology.
